The conference will be held at the National University of Ireland, 49 Merrion Square, Dublin 2 on day 1 (Thursday, 30 November) and at the Royal Irish Academy, 19 Dawson Street, Dublin 2 on day 2 (Friday, 1 December). Please note that neither day of the conference will be held at UCD’s main Belfield campus in Dublin 4. Staff members will be waiting in the foyer of your hotel at 9am on each morning to direct you to the relevant locations.
Accommodation has been booked for all conference speakers at Staunton’s on the Green, 83 St Stephen’s Green, Dublin 2. The rooms have been booked under each speaker’s name.
Getting to the Accommodation/ Conference Venue
Taxis from Dublin Airport to St Stephen’s Green cost approx. 25-30 euro each way. The Aircoach bus runs from Dublin Airport to the City Centre every 15 minutes and costs 7 euro each way. You can pay by cash on the bus or by credit card at the Aircoach stand outside the airport building. The Airlink bus (#757) run by Dublin Bus also costs 7 euro each way but has more frequent stops. It can, however, take you right up to St Stephen’s Green. Dublin Bus routes require exact change in cash.
Conference packs, including a small map of Dublin with marked venues, a conference program, a list of restaurants, and an expenses claim form can be collected from the hotel reception desk at check in.
The conference dinner will be held at 7pm on Friday 1 December. The venue is Dunne & Crescenzi on South Frederick Street, Dublin 2.
Breakfast on Thursday 30 November, Friday 1 December, and Saturday 2 December is included in your hotel package. Lunch will be provided at the conference venues on the Thursday and Friday. Please note that there is no dinner arranged for Wednesday 29 November, Thursday 30 November, or Saturday 2 December. A list of restaurants in Dublin City Centre can be found in your conference pack.
Reimbursement of Costs
Accommodation has been pre-paid by the conference fund. For those of you who booked your own flights, a claim form can be found in your conference pack, to which receipts and boarding passes should be attached and returned to: email@example.com. Unless otherwise negotiated, the cost of air travel is reclaimable for up to 250 euro for participants within the EU and 1000 euro for participants outside the EU.
Unfortunately, we are unable to reimburse any additional travel costs (such as train, bus, or taxi fares) or any subsistence expenses. Hopefully, any such costs are claimable from your home institution.
